On February 2, 2017 St. John’s College held a Careers Day, inclusive of a career fair with various vendors and colleges present. With representatives from Bahamas Air, Central Bank of the Bahamas, Roots landscaping, the Ministry of Tourism, as well as the Royal Bahamas Police Force and Royal Bahamas Defense Force, students were able to ask questions and get a better understanding of the career opportunities from representatives in attendance.
Some of the participating schools included Florida State University, Full Sail, Acadia University, Dalhousie University and Saint Francis Xavier University. Each providing their school campus overviews, scholarship opportunities and programs offered.
The career fair was geared toward the secondary school students, but the preparatory students had an exciting day as well. Dressed as doctors, lawyers, chefs, policemen and many other professions, the preparatory students enjoyed a demonstration from the K-9 unit of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Careers Day was an overall successful, educational and enjoyable day on the campus of St. John’s College.
